Wouldn't you rather be a bike commuter on the Grid? Consider:
*A lightcycle that dematerializes into a small, portable rod for easy storage,
*A skinsuit with luminous detailing for reduced drag and increased visibility on a dark, urban Grid,
*A personal disk that automatically records every moment of your life---very handy in the event of a collision with no or unreliable witnesses.

Oh, and slick tires with treads that raise at the push of a button for spontaneous off-Gridding.
"The Grid"..."The Matrix"...you should expand on this idea.
No, bike commuting in the Matrix would be too dangerous. Any driver could become an Agent and mow you down.
Just like in real life, I guess.
